The Asymmetry Of Force In Todays Struggle For Freedom

Liberty never arrives at our doorsteps gift wrapped, it requires vigilant custodians. It must constantly be maintained, reinforced and fought for or it will disappear.
And the forces that are antithetical to liberty are closing in fast.
What concerns me most is the asymmetry of the competing sides. In every preceding revolution the forces on the ground when they met at the point of the actual kill were relatively symmetric, in other words although the british sent their massive warships to the colonies, and battered the ramparts of forts with cannon, once on the ground and face to face at the point of the kill, the armaments were relatively of equal power. The same is true for the civil war, WWI, WW2, vietnam, etc.
But today the military and militarized police have such an overwhelming array of technology, weaponry and special operations equipment that the drastically asymmetrical advantage of the government at the kill point is unprecedented and should be of concern to any person concerned with the actual historical and likely present day realities of the ultimate defense of liberty which nearly always requires the sanguine watering of the tree of liberty (with the blood of the tyrants).
The lofty platitudes of nonviolence aside, when it gets down and dirty as it appears to be getting, there is little preparation being made for this other contingency.
